Hands down our number one questions from our tribe: 1) do the products really make your hair grow; 2) can this help me with my scalp condition, and 3) how much and how should I apply the product.

Here is the quick rundown for you on hair loss and scalp care to mitigate hair loss.

Our products are made with Haitian Black Castor Oil (HBCO) and that is the liquid gold of the Caribbean, packed with ricin oleicacid—a type of fatty acid found to fight inflammation. When applied to the scalp it enhances the health of the hair follicles and, in turn, promotes hair growth. Our products should certainly be in your hair growth toolkit.

There are a multitude of factors that can cause hair loss: genetics, illness, emotional trauma, protein deprivation (during strict dieting), and hormonal changes like those in pregnancy, puberty, and menopause. There are also health conditions that directly impact hair loss like alopecia, thyroid disease, iron deficiency anemia, and secondary syphilis.

To combat hair loss, the foundation of a healthy scalp is extremely important. A healthy scalp is one that is moisturized from the inside out. Thus, your first step to a healthy scalp is a balanced diet complete with plenty of drinking water and vitamins. Second step is a healthy lifestyle with reduced unnecessary stress.

Once you have that down, enter our magical products (wink face). Our products work for all hair textures/types, what changes is the frequency of use and application. But some general rules of thumb still apply, oil seals in moisture. Thus, you want to apply castor oil to a moisturized scalp and hair.
You moisturize your scalp by adding water (right after a wash or with a spray bottle) and for more kinky hair folks also adding cream (ours or one of your choice). After you created this moisturized base, you coat the castor oil on top, sealing in all of this good moisture into your hair. Generally, you can do this 2-3 times per week, adjust based on the results.

If your hair and scalp still feels dry, do this process more often, if it feels more weighed down, cut down on the number of times per week. The time that it takes for results to show varies, some clients see results immediately, others take a few weeks. If you ever have any question, be sure to hit us with a DM on our social media pages.
