Hair Protection

By now most of us have gotten the message to wear sunscreen to protect our skin from the sun, but let’s not forget about our hair!  Nowadays, it is so easy to be stylish while protecting your hair.  One option is wrapping up your hair into a fashionable headscarf after completing a moisturizing session.  There’s no right way to tie it up, so get creative.  With so many fabric patterns and colors to choose from, you can surely make a statement at any summer event.  Choose a fun floppy hat or a sharp fedora to wear to the beach or a pool party.

While we’re playing in the water, did you know that you can use castor oil to protect your hair from the chlorine and salt?

Prior to getting into the water: rinse your hair with clean, purified water, and then spread some Haitian Black Castor Oil (HBCO) all throughout the hair.  Since the hair is already wet, the chlorine is slowed down from adhering so readily to the hair.  Additionally, the oil blocks anything else from seeping into the hair.  In this way, the chlorine or salt are prevented from permeating your delicate hair strands. After coming from the pool/beach, rinse and cleanse your hair thoroughly (cool tip: use club soda to get the chlorine out).

Next, feed your stripped hair with Goat & Coconut Krem ak Let Moisturizing Hair Milk.  Full of vitamins and proteins to repair, hydrate and soften the hair, this hair milk makes for the perfect after-care moisturizer.  Use it to replenish those lost nutrients.  Seal the hair with a bit of Haitian Shea Butter, and then you’re ready to go!  And the best part is that you can use the Haitian Shea Butter all over your body too!  Castor oil and shea butter boast Spf ratings of 6 and 10 respectively, making them a power-packed combo in warding off the scorching summer rays.  Armed with these goodies, feel free to get out there and have some fun!
