Kreyòl Essence Launches SOS Academy with "STEM Saturday" to Empower the Next Generation of Beauty & Science Leaders

MIAMI, FL – Saturday June 28th, 2025 – Kreyòl Essence, the Haitian-owned scalp and hair care company known for clinically-tested beauty solutions, is proud to announce the launch of its newest educational initiative: the Save Our Scalp (SOS) Academy. The inaugural event, STEM Saturday, will take place on June 28th, 2025 at Kreyòl Essence’s headquarters, in collaboration with Dibia DREAM, a nonprofit that transforms community centers into STEM innovation labs.
STEM Saturday is an immersive, invitation-only experience designed to inspire 60 young scholars (ages 7–16) through hands-on exploration at the intersection of cosmetic chemistry, data science, product engineering, and ethical entrepreneurship.
Hosted inside Kreyòl Essence’s warehouse, students will engage in interactive STEM stations that bring the science of beauty to life—from botanical formulation and product development to artificial intelligence and supply chain logistics.
Guests and media will get a rare behind-the-scenes look at how Kreyòl Essence bridges ancestral Haitian remedies, such as Haitian Black Castor Oil (Lwil Maskriti), with modern biotechnological innovation to reimagine clean beauty for textured hair.
Program Highlights Include:
- Formulation Lab: Learn basic cosmetic chemistry while mixing Kreyòl Essence ingredients.
- Scent Creation Lab: Explore olfactory science by designing your own essential oil blend.
- AI Meets Beauty: Discover how machine learning informs customer experience in the beauty industry.
- Supply Chain Storytelling: Follow the lifecycle of a product from Haitian farms to global shelves.
- Customer Experience Workshop: Practice business communication and digital literacy through role-play and gamified learning.
- Meet the Founders & Chemist: Hear how science, heritage, and entrepreneurship power KE’s impact model.
- Product Creation Station: Design, package, and take home a custom clean beauty product.
With support from Dibia DREAM, the Bezos Family Foundation, the NBA Foundation, the City of Miami, and the Glenn W. Bailey Foundation, this event is a model of what’s possible when STEM access, cultural heritage, and purpose-driven enterprise converge.
“We created STEM Saturday to give kids – especially those from underrepresented communities – the tools to see themselves as future chemists, entrepreneurs, and changemakers,” said Yve-Car Momperousse, CEO & Co-Founder of Kreyòl Essence
