On The Go: Remove shell to expose small white seed and enjoy these edible seeds as a snack, like eating nuts, or as an “add-on” or “mix-in” with other foods.
Cooked: Remove outer shell. Toss seeds in a bowl and coat with salt or seasoning of choice, roast or steam with light heat for a few minutes.
Best Practice: Seeds are not to be eaten on an empty stomach. Eating too many seeds can cause a laxative effect. It is recommended not to exceed 2-3 seeds per day and to start with one a day and gradually increase to three a day.
